Grand River Hospital District is a general medical and surgical hospital in Rifle, CO, with 70 beds. Survey data for the latest year available shows that 7,070 patients visited the hospital’s emergency room. The hospital had a total of 541 admissions. Its physicians performed 131 inpatient and 1,020 outpatient surgeries.
Grand River Health reached a milestone in Quality and Patient Satisfaction earlier this year and has achieved a four star hospital rating based on their 2016 quality and patient satisfaction measures. This is a huge first for Grand River Health and one that most hospitals strive to be and take years to achieve. Currently only 22% of hospitals nationwide are a four star or above. “Achieving a four star rating is a great accomplishment for the staff and the organization. We have spent a great deal of time and attention improving our quality and the patient experience over the past few years. The 4 star accomplishment is reflective of the effort that GRH has put into improving its quality and customer service. GRH has no intention of stopping here as we are pushing towards a 5 star rating which would put us in the top 2% of hospitals nationwide” says Grand River Health’s Chief Executive Officer, Jim Coombs.
According the Center for Medicaid and Medicare website, the Hospital Compare overall rating summarizes up to 57 quality measures across seven areas of quality into a star rating for each hospital.
